Telephone conversation between the President of Turkmenistan and the Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan

On March 21, 2026, a telephone conversation took place between President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif.

After exchanging greetings, the interlocutors extended their sincere congratulations to each other and the friendly peoples of both nations on the occasion of the sacred holiday of Oraza and the International Day of Nowruz, which are integral parts of the rich cultural heritage shared by both peoples.

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif noted that Pakistan highly values the achievements of Turkmenistan and attaches great importance to the further development of cooperation based on friendship and equality. He conveyed warm greetings and wishes for health and happiness from the President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Asif Ali Zardari.

The Prime Minister also conveyed warm regards to the National Leader of the Turkmen people and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, offering sincere congratulations on the occasion of Oraza Bayramy and the Nowruz holiday.

In response, the Head of State expressed his gratitude and, on his own behalf and on behalf of the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty, conveyed reciprocal greetings and best wishes to the leadership of the friendly state.

As emphasized, strengthening friendly and mutually beneficial relations with the Islamic Republic of Pakistan is one of the priority areas of Turkmenistan's foreign policy strategy.Political and diplomatic ties between our countries are being enriched with new content and are consistently developing.

In this regard, the President of Turkmenistan noted that the participation of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif in the International Forum held in Ashgabat last December on the occasion of the International Year of Peace and Trust is a vivid example of this, and taking the opportunity, expressed gratitude for his participation in it.

Noting the high significance of the International Forum held in Ashgabat as well as Turkmenistan's initiatives aimed at ensuring universal peace and sustainable development, the Prime Minister of Pakistan, in turn, emphasized that he recalls with pleasant feelings his visit to Turkmenistan to participate in this international conference and his meeting with President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

As emphasized, currently, fruitful cooperation is actively developing between Turkmenistan and Pakistan in all areas, including political-diplomatic, cultural-humanitarian, trade-economic, energy, and transport spheres.

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif declared Pakistan's readiness to make every effort for the further development of trade and economic ties and invited President Serdar Berdimuhamedov to visit Pakistan at any time convenient for him.

Expressing gratitude for the invitation, the Head of State confirmed his readiness to fully support initiatives and efforts aimed at the further development and enrichment of relations between our states with new content.

At the end of the conversation, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif exchanged wishes for strong health and great success in state activities, wishing prosperity and well-being to the friendly peoples of the two countries.

The telephone conversation took place at the initiative of the Pakistani side.
