The Ambassador of Turkmenistan and a member of the Belgian Parliament discussed prospects for cooperation

On October 7, in Brussels, a meeting was held between the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Belgium Sapar Palvanov and the member of the Belgian House of Representatives Tim Vandenput, who is also the chairman of the inter-parliamentary friendship group “Belgium-Turkmenistan”, reports the press service of the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Belgium.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the prospects for cooperation between Turkmenistan and Belgium in various fields, including politics, economics, culture and education.

The main emphasis was placed on the need to intensify interparliamentary dialogue. The Ambassador emphasized the importance of the friendship group created in 2020 as a key impetus in cooperation between the parliaments of both countries.

The MP emphasized the growing role of Turkmenistan for Belgium and expressed confidence in cooperation, especially in the fields of transport, energy, agriculture and education. In the context of transport cooperation, emphasis was placed on the geographical location of Turkmenistan and the capabilities of the Turkmenbashy seaport.

At the end of the meeting, the parties agreed on further cooperation in order to strengthen bilateral relations.
