A festival of the creative heritage of Magtymguly has opened in Ashgabat, timed to coincide with the celebration of the 300th anniversary of the great poet and thinker of the East. The event was organized with the support of the Department of Culture of the city of Ashgabat.
According to the publication “Turkmenistan: Golden Age”, musical groups of Ashgabat from the Turkmen National Conservatory named after M.Kuliyeva, the Turkmen State Special Music School named after.
D.Ovezov at the Turkmen National Conservatory, as well as the House of Culture of the capital region.The performances of the participants were held on the stage of the “Watan” cinema and concert center.
The concert program includes songs based on poems by the founder of Turkmen literature Magtymguly Fragi. Among the performers are people's and honored artists of Turkmenistan such as Shemshat Hojayeva, Palvan Hamydov, Merdan Bayramov, Garyagdy Sariyev and many others.
In the coming days, the regional stages of the festival will be held in Ahal, Balkan, Dashoguz, Lebap and Mary velayats, reports the source.
The final round of the festival will be held in June in Ashgabat. The best musicians and performers of folk songs will gather here.
