Head of the foreign policy department of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov reported concerning cooperation of the country with specialised agencies of the United Nations. It took place during the session of the government which took place today, on February 19.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs told that the partnership with the United Nations and its structures is carried out within the limits of realisation of the Framework programme of cooperation in the field of sustainable development between Turkmenistan and the United Nations Organization for 2021-2025.
Meredov also presented the project on interaction in the field of public health services which will be carried out together with United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS).
President Berdimuhamedov, in turn, noted qualitatively new level of fruitful cooperation with the United Nations.
Turkmenistan is a member of 11 agencies of the United Nations Organization.In the UN Regional Centre for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia, the office of the resident co-ordinator of the United Nations, the resident representative of the Program of development of the United Nations, representation of UNICEF, United Nations Population Fund, United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), WHO and International Organization For Migration work in the capital of the country.
