The increase in trade between the business structures of Turkmenistan and the EU countries was considered

The issues of increasing trade turnover, as well as the development of partnership between the business structures of our country and the states of the European Union were considered at the 20th meeting of the Joint Committee "Turkmenistan-EU" in the mode of videoconferencing.

Special attention was paid to the issues of enhancing cooperation in the field of trade, energy, transport, communications and high technologies.This was reported by the Foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan.

During the meeting, the sides also discussed aspects of the development and strengthening of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the European Union on the further intensification of political and diplomatic dialogue and inter-parliamentary ties, trade and economic interaction.

Our country was represented by heads and representatives of the Ministry of Finance and Economy, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Energy, the “Turkmenneft” and “Turkmengas” state concerns, the Union of Entrepreneurs and Industrialists and a number of other departments.

On behalf of the EU, representatives of the European External Action Service headed by Luc Devin, Head of the Directorate for Russia, Eastern Partnership, Central Asia and the OSCE, took part in the negotiations.

The parties also noted the relevance of contacts at the highest level, as well as in bilateral and multilateral formats. In particular, the importance of meetings within the framework of the Joint Committee, Interparliamentary Dialogue, Dialogue on Human Rights, Consultative meetings between foreign ministries, as well as interregional interaction in the format "Central Asia - European Union" was emphasized.
