The Minimum Wage in Turkmenistan Reaches 1280 Manats

The minimum wage in Turkmenistan has been raised to 1,280 manats as of January 1, 2024. President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov signed a Decree at the Friday meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on increasing the size of wages, pensions, state allowances, and student and student allowances, and establishing their basic amount.

According to the Decree, wages, pensions, state allowances, and scholarships will increase by 10 percent from January 1, 2024, the official Turkmen media reported.

Also, according to the document, as of January 1, 2024:

1. The minimum monthly pension of the participants of the Great Patriotic War is set at 2070 manats;

2. The minimum monthly pension for spouses of the participants of the Great Patriotic War and those who worked behind the lines is set at 605 manats;

3. The minimum size of pension, the basic amount, is set at 500 manats;

4. The basic amount for calculating the state allowance is set at 470 manats.

The Decree establishes that from January 1, 2024, state agencies, local governments, military and law enforcement agencies, judicial bodies, newspaper and magazine publishers, and public organizations will be subject to the new changes.

According to the official Turkmen media, it is necessary to ensure an increase in wages by improving the structure of institutions, enterprises, and organizations, increasing the efficiency of the use of production capacities, increasing the productivity of workers, and using internal opportunities.
