The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan discussed the prospects for the development of Turkmen-Afghan relations

In the capital of Turkmenistan, negotiations were held between the country's Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov and the Afghan delegation led by acting Minister of Industry and Trade Alhaj Nuruddin Azizi, reports the press service of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry.

During the meeting, the parties examined in detail the results of the visit of the Afghan delegation to Turkmenistan and the agreements reached within its framework. Particular attention was paid to the further promotion of key regional infrastructure projects, including the TAPI gas pipeline, the TAP power transmission line, the construction of railways and social facilities in Afghanistan.

The negotiators analyzed the current state of work in these areas and identified potential growth points for expanding bilateral trade, developing transport, transit and energy connections, as well as using the logistics potential of Turkmenistan.

The parties highly appreciated the significance of the recent visit of the Afghan delegation, which included an exhibition of goods and a joint business forum in Ashgabat. Following the meeting, an agreement was reached on regular working contacts for the further development of trade and economic ties between the two countries.
