The President of Turkmenistan instructed to keep a full record of persons who have returned from places of detention

At a meeting of the State Security Council held today President Serdar Berdimuhamedov ordered the internal affairs bodies to keep a full record of persons who have returned from places of deprivation of liberty. It was reported by the news program “Vatan” of the Turkmen television.

Moreover, the Head of State assigned the bodies of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, together with local administrations, to carry out the necessary work on their employment, to take measures of a socio-economic, educational and legal nature in order for them to join society, to improve their lives.

Pardon actions in Turkmenistan have been practiced since 1999. At present time, they are conducted 3 4 times per year and devoted to coincide with major public holidays. In April 2022, 514 convicts were pardoned in Turkmenistan in honor of the Night of Omnipotence (“Gadyr Gijesi”).
