On 11 February President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymukhammedov visited the temporary military training facility of the air defense forces and familiarized himself with the air defense equipment.
The President arrived at the venue by helicopter, tested brand new armed vehicle in the air, then he drove a special-purpose vehicle inspecting adjacent areas, — the state information TDH reports.
Secretary of Turkmenistan’s State Security Council Yalym Berdiev reported on the readiness of the military personnel and samples of new military and specialized machinery and vehicles, which were subsequently inspected by Berdymukhmamedov.
During the inspection the President tested the multi-purposed advanced vehicle — a four-wheel drive vehicle for speed, acceleration and manoeuvring in cross country terrain conditions, according to the news outlet.
After testing the specialized vehicles Gurbanguly Berdymukhammedov piloted the helicopter and left the venue.
It should be mentioned that the President of Turkmenistan has been frequently visiting the country’s military objects.On 17 January he paid a visit to the air base to inspect the helicopter fleet and personally tested one of the helicopters.
On 10 January Gurbanguly Berdymukhammedov visited a border crossing checkpoint where military armaments, outfits and equipment were demonstrated to him.
On 22 November 2017 the head of the state also visited the border crossing checkpoint near Ashgabat, where frontier guards performed one of their musical pieces.
