The journal Nature has published a list of outstanding scientists for 2023. It included representatives from different countries and fields of science, whose work had a significant impact on the development of the world:

- Kalpana Kalahasti is the head of the Indian mission “Chandrayaan-3”, which made the first soft landing on the Moon in the history of the country.

- Ilya Sutskever is the founder of OpenAI, which created the ChatGPT chatbot.

- Marina Silva, Brazil's Environment Minister, helped stop deforestation in the Amazon.

- Katsuhiko Hayashi, a biologist from Japan, was able to turn the cells of a male mouse into viable eggs.

- Annie Critcher - developer of the NIF fusion reactor.

- James Hamlin is a physicist who discovered and achieved the retraction of erroneous articles on superconductors from the Nature website.

- Svetlana Moisov is a biochemist from the USA, who has developed a medicine for weight loss.

- Khalid Tinto is testing the R21 malaria vaccine.

- Thomas Powles has developed a new method for treating bladder cancer.
