Turkmen cinema will be widely represented at the film festival of the Turkic world “Korkut Ata”

A large delegation of Turkmenistan will take part in the third film festival of the Turkic world “Korkut Ata”, which will take place on October 8-11 in Baku, Azerbaijan.

The Turkmen delegation will include filmmakers, artists and television journalists.

According to the publication “Turkmenistan: Golden Age”, the feature film “Gyzyl Alma” directed by “Turkmenfilm” Hekim Alovov will be presented in the “feature film” category.

The non-competition program of the festival includes the work of film director Sahysalykh Bayramov “Daraght”, which participated in the competition program of the XV Tashkent International Film Festival “Pearl of the Silk Road” that recently ended.

In the documentary category, the film “Children of the Sun and Water” by Palvan Geldiyev will be presented.

A Turkmen cartoon directed by Rovshen Velmiev will be shown in non-competition screenings within the framework of the film festival.

Television journalists from the State Committee of Turkmenistan for Television, Radio Broadcasting and Cinematography will report from the most interesting events of the festival.

The goal of the Korkut Ata Film Festival is to strengthen unity and cultural cooperation between the Turkic peoples, create a common audiovisual space and promote the integration of the Turkic peoples into it. More than 100 foreign guests are expected to attend.

About 40 feature, documentary and animated films will be shown at the Nizami Film Center in Baku as part of the festival, the source notes.
