Prospects and opportunities for the establishment and development of trade and economic relations between Turkmenistan and Portugal were the topic of a video meeting between the heads of Commerce and Industry Chambers of the two countries.
The online event, organized with the assistance of the Embassy of Turkmenistan in France, was attended by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to Portugal (with a residence in Paris) Shohrat Jumayev and Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan Dovletgeldi Rejepov.
For the Portuguese part, Secretary General of the Portuguese Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Joao Pedro Guimaraes, and International Trade Director of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the country, Mr. Pedro Magalaes joined the video link.
During the meeting, issues were raised about signing in the near future a Memorandum of Understanding by the Chambers of Commerce and Industry, organizing a webinar with the participation of companies from the two countries operating in the textile sector.
As was noted in the conversation, after the end of the pandemic, Turkmenistan and Portugal are planning to exchange visits of delegations representing the business communities of both countries.
