Turkmen President Cycles Along Caspian Coast

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, who is on a labor leave, took a bike ride along the Caspian coast on Friday.

During the bike ride, the Head of State examined the surroundings of the Avaza National Tourist Zone, according to the country’s official media.

Regular bike rides of the Turkmen President, which serve as a worthy role model for young people, create significant prospects for the development of cycling a popular and environmentally friendly sport that is recognized all over the world.

President Berdimuhamedov then visited the Avaza sports complex and exercised.

According to the report, in Turkmenistan, at the state level, great importance is attached to the comprehensive development of sports, physical culture and recreation activities, as well as the active involvement of the population, especially young people in this activities.

At the initiative of Turkmenistan and the relevant resolution of the UN General Assembly, the World Bicycle Day is widely celebrated on June 3 every year.
