Turkmen President Extends Condolences to Moroccan King Over Deadly Earthquake

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov send a message of condolences to King Mohammed VI of Morocco over the devastating earthquake in the country that resulted in human casualties, injuries and large-scale destruction, the official Turkmen media reports.

The Head of Turkmenistan also expressed on behalf of the people, the Government of Turkmenistan and on his own behalf words of sincere empathy and support to the families and friends of the victims, as well as wishes for speedy recovery of the injured.

A 7-magnitude earthquake struck near the historic Moroccan city of Marrakesh late Friday night.

According to the Interior Ministry of Morocco, the earthquake killed at least 2,122 people and injured 2,421.
