Turkmen President Meets Governor of Russia’s Astrakhan Region

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a meeting with the Governor of the Astrakhan region of Russia Igor Babushkin in Ashgabat on Monday, the official Turkmen media reports.

Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Igor Babushkin expressed their satisfaction with the growing relations between Turkmenistan and the Astrakhan region. They also highlighted their shared goals of expanding the range of products in their mutual trade.

President Berdimuhamedov expressed his willingness to consider constructive proposals regarding the use of transportation and transit potential between the Turkmenbashi port and the ports of the Astrakhan region.

The Head of Turkmenistan emphasized the importance of exploring the opportunities presented by Astrakhan's special economic zones to enhance investment cooperation with interested agencies and representatives of Turkmenistan's private sector. President Berdimuhamedov assured that Turkmenistan intends to further develop its partnership with the Astrakhan region.

Concluding the meeting, President Berdimuhamedov and Governor Babushkin expressed confidence that the traditionally friendly and neighborly relations between Turkmenistan and Russia's Astrakhan region will continue to grow dynamically.
