The 3rd meeting of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Belarusian Commission on Cooperation in the Field of Science and Technology was held in Minsk, reports the Belarusian Embassy in Turkmenistan.
The delegation of Turkmenistan at the event was headed by the President of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan Allaberdi Ashirov, who is the co-chairman of the commission from the Turkmen side.
The Belarusian side was represented by specialists from research organizations of the republic, headed by the Deputy Chairman of the State Committee of the Republic of Belarus on Science and Technology Tatyana Stolyarova.
During the meeting, it was noted that scientific and technical cooperation is an important part of the partnership between Turkmenistan and Belarus.
The parties reached an agreement on further strengthening scientific and technical cooperation on a mutually beneficial basis. It was decided to intensify the exchange of scientific knowledge and experience, expand joint project activities, and make efforts to create common research organizations and high-tech enterprises.
During the negotiations, the parties identified priority areas of scientific and technical cooperation for 2024-2025.These include: the development of new chemical technologies and materials, research in the field of bio- and nanotechnologies, joint projects in the field of medicine and pharmaceuticals, solving environmental problems, studying natural and man-made seismic phenomena, as well as the introduction of innovative technologies in agriculture.
