Turkmenistan Approves Structure of State Commodity Exchange Central Apparatus

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov has signed a Decree approving the structure of the central apparatus of the State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan (SCRMET), the country’s official media reported on Sunday.

The document was adopted in order to build up the country's export potential, develop market relations, and improve the activities of the State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan.

In accordance with the Decree, the State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan and the Ministry of Justice are instructed to prepare and submit to the Cabinet of Ministers within a month proposals on making amendments and additions to the legislation of Turkmenistan arising from this Decree.

Established in 1994, the SCRMET is the main body regulating export-import operations in Turkmenistan.
