Turkmenistan-CIS Trade Turnover Exceeds $2.6 Billion From January to October

The foreign trade turnover between Turkmenistan and the countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States exceeded $2.6 billion or 16.5 percent of the country's total foreign trade turnover in January-October this year, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Hojamyrat Geldimyradov said, speaking at a meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the CIS member states in Moscow, Russia, on Monday, the Baku TV reports.

"In recent years, trade and economic cooperation between Turkmenistan and the CIS countries has noticeably intensified. We are consistently strengthening trade and economic ties, restoring trade chains, and creating new markets," the Deputy Prime Minister stated.

During his speech, Hojamyrat Geldimyradov added that Turkmenistan's foreign trade turnover with CIS countries last year totalled over $3.2 billion.

The Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan on economic and financial affairs also emphasised that 478 investment projects with the participation of companies from CIS member states have been registered in the country.
