Trade Turnover Between Turkmenistan and China Surges 52% in 2022

The trade turnover between Turkmenistan and China amounted to more than $11.181 billion in 2022, a 52 percent year-on-year jump, according to the data issued by General Administration of Customs of China.

The countries traded more than $7.35 billion worth of products in 2021.

In December 2022 alone, the mutual trade turnover between the two countries exceeded $1.057 billion.

Turkmen exports accounted for most of the trade turnover. Last year, Turkmenistan exported more than $10.31 billion worth of products to China. During the same period, Turkmenistan imported more than $867.6 million worth of Chinese goods.

The major component of Turkmenistan's exports to China is natural gas delivered through pipelines.
