Turkmenistan Imports Over 3,300 Cubic Meters of Russian Lumber

Turkmenistan has imported more than 3,300 cubic meters of lumber from the Kostroma region of Russia since the beginning of 2023, the press service of Russian Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Supervision (Rosselkhoznadzor) reported on Friday.

According to the report, before shipment to Turkmenistan, the lumber, including coniferous species (spruce, pine), was controlled by employees of the Rosselkhoznadzor Department for the Vladimir, Kostroma and Ivanovo regions.

Each lot of exported materials passed the procedure of quarantine phytosanitary disinfection using thermal method.

All batches of lumber exported to Turkmenistan from Kostroma region were accepted by the importing organization.

In 2022, export of lumber (plank, beam, veneer, funkwood) from Russia to Turkmenistan increased by 28 percent compared to 2021 and amounted to 101 thousand cubic meters.
