Turkmenistan Joins Preparatory Meeting for First Central AsiaKorea Summit

Turkmenistan's Deputy Foreign Minister, Ahmet Gurbanov, took part in the second meeting of senior officials preparing for the first summit of heads of state under the Central AsiaRepublic of Korea format in Tashkent on Tuesday, according to Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

The meeting brought together representatives of the foreign ministries of Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and the Republic of Korea. Participants reviewed progress in preparations for the upcoming summit and discussed draft outcome documents.

The participants exchanged views on further strengthening multifaceted cooperation between the countries of Central Asia and the Republic of Korea. Particular attention was given to prospects for expanding collaboration in trade and economic relations, investment, energy, transport and logistics, as well as cultural and humanitarian cooperation.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties reaffirmed their readiness to continue coordination efforts ahead of the first-ever Central AsiaRepublic of Korea summit.

The first meeting of senior officials under the format was held in Seoul on April 10, 2026.
