Turkmenistan offered Kyrgyzstan to hold a joint business forum

Ambassador of Turkmenistan Shadurdy Meredov met with President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Kyrgyzstan Marat Sharshekeyev.

During the negotiations, the Turkmen diplomat proposed holding of a joint Turkmen-Kyrgyzstan business forum in June this year.

It is expected, that the meetings of entrepreneurs will be held online, reported on the website of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Kyrgyzstan.

The parties noted the increase in trade between the two countries in recent years. In particular, these figures, reaching 86 million USD tripled in 2021.

The main products, supplied from Turkmenistan to Kyrgyzstan are tomatoes, whose share in the local market is up to 70%.

The Ambassador of Turkmenistan also reminded that an agreement between the heads of the two countries on the establishment of the Turkmen-Kyrgyz Development Fund with an authorized capital of 100 million USD was reached.

The construction of an 18-storey residential building in Bishkek with business premises will be one of the first projects under the fund.
