Turkmenistan’s oil and gas complex summarizes first quarter 2026 results

On April 4, a reporting meeting was held at the central building of Turkmenistan’s oil and gas complex, dedicated to reviewing the results of the sector’s work for the first three months of 2026.

The meeting also addressed the tasks facing the country’s oil and gas complex, as outlined by President Serdar Berdimuhamedow at the regular Cabinet of Ministers session on April 3.

The event was opened by Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Guvanch Agajanov.The Vice Premier emphasized that the Head of State places great trust in the workers of the oil and gas industry and creates all conditions for the improvement and stable development of the complex.

During the meeting, the heads of the structures within the oil and gas complex delivered reports on oil and natural gas production results, including the exploration and development of new fields, measures being taken to increase export volumes, and ensuring uninterrupted operation of production capacities.

Information was also presented on major projects involving foreign companies and the active implementation of digital technologies in the oil and gas sector.Special attention during the meeting was given to strengthening operations at the Galkynyş field and the construction of the main section of the TurkmenistanAfghanistanPakistanIndia gas pipeline, SerhetabatHerat, known as Arkadagyň ak ýoly.

In accordance with the Presidential decree, the State concern Türkmengaz was granted the right to conclude a contract with the Chinese company CNPC Amudarya Petroleum Company Ltd for the design, construction, and equipping of production wells for a facility producing 10 billion cubic meters of commercial gas per year as part of the fourth phase of the Galkynyş gas field.

This event is seen as an important step toward enhancing the national fuel and energy sector.In this context, Vice Premier Guvanch Agajanov emphasized the need to prepare for the scientific-practical conference TurkmenistanChina: 20 Years of Strategic Cooperation in the Gas Industry.

The Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers also outlined the key tasks for the State concerns Türkmennebit, Türkmengaz and the State corporation Türkmengeologiýa wishing industry workers success in effectively implementing the tasks set by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov for the country’s oil and gas complex.
