Turkmenistan to Hold Mass Cycling Event

A mass cycling event is scheduled to take place in Ashgabat on June 3, according to Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan B. Mammedov, who made the announcement during a government meeting on Friday.

According to Turkmenistan’s official media, the deputy prime minister reported on preparations for sports and health-improvement events in connection with World Bicycle Day.

The report notes that in honor of the significant date, cycling races, sports competitions, scientific and practical conferences, as well as informational and awareness-raising events are planned from May 30 to June 3 across the velayats, as well as in the cities of Ashgabat and Arkadag.

In this regard, the deputy prime minister submitted the relevant proposal for consideration by the head of state.

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted that World Bicycle Day is an international sporting holiday symbolizing a healthy and happy lifestyle. The head of state instructed the deputy prime minister to ensure that the sporting events are organized at a high level.
