Turkmenistan, UN ESCAP Discuss Transport and Energy Cooperation

Turkmenistan and the UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific discussed cooperation in the transport and energy sectors.

The issue was addressed during a meeting between Turkmen Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov and UN ESCAP Deputy Executive Secretary Shombi Sharp, who announced the meeting on his social media accounts on Sunday.

The talks also covered sustainable development issues in the context of achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

Earlier, Sharp said cooperation between Turkmenistan and UN ESCAP is entering a phase of targeted implementation across key areas, including trade, connectivity, the energy transition and digital development.
