The men's and women's teams of Turkmenistan (U17) in 3x3 basketball are preparing for the Asian Cup, which will be held in the capital of Malaysia on October 13-16, reports the local basketball federation.
To qualify for the national teams, Turkmenistan held a championship in which 16 men's and 11 women's teams participated. The tournament was held on August 28-30 in the sports hall of the International University of Oil and Gas.
“It was a review and selection of players who will prepare for participation in the U-17 Asian Cup in Kuala Lumpur on October 13-16”, said in a statement of the Basketball Federation of Turkmenistan.
“Ashgabat” teams became the winners of the qualifying tournament among girls and boys. The women's team defeated “Mary” in the final with a score of 16:10, while the men's team was stronger than “Balkan” - 21:18.
The organizers of the competition note that the victory of the “Balkan” U-16 team in the semi-finals over “Gara altyn” U-17 was a pleasant surprise.
