President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov visited Turkmenbashy International Seaport and inspected the organization of its work.Infrastructure of new Turkmenbashy International Seaport is able to satisfy not only existing but also perspective demands by quality proposals and high-class service.
Its entry to full operation capacity will lead to strategic changes in logistic chains of continental cargo transportation with Turkmen transshipment terminals as important hubs and as the most optimal for shortest and advantageous routes.
President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov was met by the number of the Deputy Chairmen of the Cabinet of Ministers of the country, heads of some military and law enforcement agencies and other structures.
President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov has visited the Balkan shipyard.This fundamentally new for our country industry became the basis for national shipbuilding.In addition to assembly of the vessels, it will provide full cycle of repair of tankers, dry cargo ships, tag boats and other vessels.
Technology trains of the plant allow processing 10,000 tons of steel per year.This time allows building four ships and make repair works at up to 20 ships using automated systems.
Large work on training of personnel, operators and profile specialists has been carried out during construction stage of the plant both in Turkmenistan and abroad.The facility was designed according to the requirements of International Association of Classification Society.
The ICAS aims to develop the standards and regulations in regards with the provision of safety of maritime transportation.More than 90 percent of the tonnage of the world commercial fleet is in the class societies of the ICAS.
At present moment, Balkan Ship Yard makes repair of three ships.These are two bulk carriers Turkmenistan and Magtumguly and oil tanker Bitarap.There is also all capabilities for repairing of foreign ships operating in Turkmen part of Caspian Sea.
At the facility, Head of the State Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov was presented with the displays picturing various class ships, which are planned to be built at Balkan shipyard.It includes RO-RO ferry boats for transportation of vehicles ( cars, trucks, carriers and wagons), tankers, bulk cargo ships, salvage, emergency and other ships.
Having familiarized with the types and technical characteristics of the ships, the President discussed in details the requirements of different branches in marine transportation with the heads of relevant structures.
After, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov went around the territory of the port by bicycle, having looked around the facilities and the works.General cargo terminal is one of the biggest facilities of the port.
Its capacity is 4 million tons of cargo per year.At the moment, 5 thousand tons of sulphur packed in polypropylene film is ready to be shipped to Europe.
The carbamide is also ready to be shipped to Bulgaria.Regarding special terminal for storage and shipment of polypropylene, this product is on one of the leading places of oil products produced by Turkmenbashy Refinery Complex.
The geography of consumers of Turkmen polypropylene is very wide including Japan, Russia, Turkey, Iran, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan and other countries.Considerable part of export is shipped by sea.
Bulk cargo terminal is designated for shipment of different raw materials, petrochemical products, clinker, iron ore, bauxite, aluminium, coal, forage, fertilizers as well as grain, sugar, salt, etc.Warehouses and bunkers are to be built for storage of these products.
Annual capacity of the terminal is 3 million tons.After, Head of the State Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov looked around container terminal with average annual output capacity of 400 thousands of standard shipping containers.
These days, there are containers going to Afghanistan on transit as well as to Europe from Uzbekistan.The terminal is able to take Turkmenistan to leading positions in export and import system of cargo transportation of the region.
Multimodal logistic park is able to provide the complex of services on storage and combined processing of containers delivered by air, railways and roads providing the shipment to ships and back.
The container terminal is equipped with satellite control system with displaying of all current information of the monitors of operators and meet the Container Terminal Quality Indicator standards.The growth of container shipment turnover has been observed in the last several years what naturally caused the growth of container terminals.
Implementation of the CTQI allowed making unified control system of the quality in this type of services.Having noted that objectives of operation of the main port of the country and national fleets have to be coordinated and co-related with the plans of oil and gas, industrial complexes, railway transport and other branches of national economy, city administration of Turkmenbashy city, in other words with all entities carrying out their activity in Caspian region, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov gave relevant instructions on this account.
Further development of Turkmenbashy Port has to be aimed at the expansion of international trade relations of our country and hence, at the growth of national economy and prosperity of Turkmen people, the President said.
It is worth mentioning that waste treatment equipment has been installed in all terminals of Turkmenbashy Port for protection of marine environment of Caspian Sea.In general, the project was designed in accordance with international standard of Green Port.
As is known, the biodiversity of Caspian Sea is composed of more than 2,500 species with one third of them in Turkmen sector of the sea.Great attention paid by Turkmenistan to creation of reliable system of environment protection of Caspian Sea is stipulated by special status of the Caspian the largest internal water pool of the planet, true pearl of the nature with exclusive flora and fauna, which is note connected to the world ocean.
At present time, Turkmen sector of Caspian Sea is the cleanest, which is explained by steadfast and targeted work in this field.Interdepartmental Commission on Caspian Sea Affairs has been founded and works successfully by the initiative of the Head of the State.
One of the most important objectives of this structure is to develop the proposals on practical realization of international initiatives proposed by the Head of Turkmenistan and aimed at the protection, improvement and rational use of the richest resources of unique natural water pool.
Asserting ecological diplomacy as one of key priorities of foreign policy, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov focuses on the importance of humanization and greening of the system of international relations.
