Azerbaijan Introduces Discounts on Cargo Transportation Along Baku-Turkmenbashi-Baku Shipping Line

Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping (ASCO) CJSC announces discounts on road transportation in both directions on the Baku-Turkmenbashi-Baku route beginning from March 1, 2023, the company said in its Monday press release.

The tariff for transportation of a long combination vehicle (LCV) with maximum length of 16.5 meters in one direction (Baku-Turkmenbashi or Turkmenbashi-Baku) will be set at $1,000 instead of $1,072, according to the company.

In addition, a round-trip ticket will cost $1,600 instead of $1,716, if bought in advance.

The percentile reduction of tariffs will be calculated in proportion to the length of the wheeled vehicle.

Since the beginning of February, passenger cars have also been transported in this direction at reduced rates. Currently, the cost of transporting a passenger car on ship is $200 instead of $325, according to the ASCO.

The decision on tariff reduction aims at favorable conditions for road transportation along the Caspian Sea in the direction of Turkmenistan.
