Azerbaijani Economy Minister: Turkmen-Azerbaijani Trade Turnover Grows 88% in January-October

Trade turnover between Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan increased by more than 88 percent in January-October 2023 compared to the same period in 2022, Azerbaijani Economy Minister Mikail Jabbarov announced at the 7th meeting of the Turkmen-Azerbaijani Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation in Ashgabat on Tuesday.

According to the Minister of Economy's social media report, this figure represents a growth of nearly ten times over the last two years.

During the Turkmen-Azerbaijani business forum, Minister Mikail Jabbarov expressed the importance of sustaining the positive trend and encouraged businesses from both countries to assess mutual investment projects and actively participate in cooperation efforts.

In addition, during the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Azerbaijani Commission on Economic Cooperation meeting, they discussed promising areas of partnership, including trade and economics, oil and gas, electricity, construction, textile industry, communications, connection and agriculture, the official Turkmen media reports.

The Chamber of Commerce and Industry hosted the Turkmen-Azerbaijani business forum, which focused on exploring avenues for enhancing trade and economic cooperation and expanding business connections. The event gathered representatives from government entities and business communities of both countries.

On the same day, Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov met with Mikail Chingiz oglu Jabbarov, Minister of Economy of Azerbaijan.
