Despite the availability of permits, privately-owned garages demolished in Turkmenbashi

Privately-owned garages built on the plots of lands which had been previously allocated by the local administration have been demolished in several districts of the city of Turkmenbashi.

Former owners of dismantled facilities told a correspondent of “Chronicles of Turkmenistan” that they had not been warned about the forthcoming demolition in advance.

— Bulldozers and excavators were deployed and no IDs or demolition permits were presented to us. Moreover, they did not check our documents, — those affected say.

They are not trying to obtain the compensation through the court as they think there are no chances to success.

All car owners were informed that from now on they are allowed to park only at specially designated parking lots.
