Indian President to Visit Turkmenistan

At the invitation of Turkmen President, President of India Ram Nath Kovind will pay a state visit to Turkmenistan on April 1-4, the Ministry of External Affairs of India said in its Tuesday press release.

This will be the first-ever visit of Indian President to Turkmenistan, the Indian foreign ministry said.

During the visit, President Kovind will meet the new President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov to discuss various issues of bilateral and regional cooperation, including implementation of the outcomes of the India-Central Asia Summit held in January 2022.

Some agreements and memoranda of understandings are also expected to be signed during the visit.

The visit to Turkmenistan will be followed by a state visit of Indian President to the Kingdom of Netherlands on April 4-7 at the invitation of King Willem Alexander and Queen Maxima.
