Iraqi President Abdul Latif Rashid arrived in Ashgabat on Dec. 10 to attend international events marking the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s permanent neutrality, the International Day of Neutrality and an International Forum dedicated to the International Year of Peace and Trust, according to Ashgabat International Airport.
Rashid’s participation reflects international recognition of Turkmenistan’s foreign policy based on the principles of neutrality, peaceful dialogue and trust.
The forum is viewed as a multilateral platform for discussing key issues of international cooperation and developing practical approaches to strengthening peace and stability.
On the same day, President Carlos Vila Nova of São Tomé and Príncipe also arrived in Ashgabat.
