Prospects of building up partnership with Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan discussed in Moscow

In the capital of the Russian Federation, the Governor of the Astrakhan Region Igor Babushkin met with Alexey Overchuk, Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation, Head of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation with Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan.

The official website of the Ministry of External Relations of the Astrakhan Region reports it.

Igor Babushkin reported on the progress on the development of the Caspian cluster and plans for cooperation with neighbors in the region.

During the conversation, the possibilities of further building up Russia's partnership with the countries of the Caspian basin were discussed. In particular, they discussed the North-South International Transport Corridor, the formation of new cargo flows and the transit of goods across the Caspian Sea through Astrakhan ports.

The Caspian Region is marked as "geostrategic territory to strengthen the ties of the Russian Federation with the states of the Caspian reservoir," the report says.
