Putin will take part in Ashgabat Caspian summit in person

The President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin will take part in the VI Caspian Summit, which will be held on June 29 in Ashgabat. This was announced today by the press secretary of the Russian leader Dmitry Peskov.

At the same time, Peskov has not yet announced the bilateral meetings that Vladimir Putin will hold on the sidelines of the summit.

The Presidents of Turkmenistan and Russia have already met this month within the framework of Serdar Berdimuhamedov's first official visit to Moscow, during which the two heads of state signed a Declaration on deepening strategic partnership. At the same time, the Turkmen leader invited Vladimir Putin to visit Ashgabat. The Head of the Russian Federation accepted the invitation.

Putin last visited Turkmenistan in October 2019 as part of his participation in a meeting of the Council of Heads of CIS member states.
