September First Week Trades at Turkmen Exchange: Textiles, Cement, Polypropylene

The total amount of transactions concluded at the auctions of the State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan (SCRMET) over the past week amounted to over $8.3 million and 4.8 million manats. Among the most high-demand products at the auctions were textiles, portland cement and polypropylene.

For foreign currency, businesses from Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan purchased polypropylene of Türkmennebit (Turkmen Oil) State Concern, the country’s official media reported on Monday.

Companies from China, the UAE, Turkey, Afghanistan, Armenia and Kyrgyzstan bought bed linen sets, cotton and denim fabric, cotton yarn, portland cement, cotton fiber, as well as regenerated fiber from textile waste for foreign currency.

For the domestic market, Turkmen businesses purchased polypropylene of Türkmennebit for 4.8 million manats.

Last week, 40 deals were registered at the SCRMET trades.

In August, the volume of trade transactions at the SCRMET experienced a notable increase, leading to a total value of realized transactions exceeding $207 million.
