The Head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan took part in the meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the CIS

The Vice-Premier, Head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov took part in the meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the CIS, which is held today in Astana under the Chairmanship of the Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Mukhtar Tleuberdi.

This was reported by the press service of the Kazakh Foreign Ministry.

The participants of the event, which was also attended by the Foreign Ministers of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, discussed issues of deepening cooperation between foreign ministries within the CIS, as well as topical aspects of the regional and international agenda.

Following the meeting, a number of decisions were made aimed at deepening cooperation on the Commonwealth platform.

The Foreign Ministers agreed the drafts of the documents to be discussed by the Heads of States at the upcoming CIS Summit that will be held on October 14 in the capital of Kazakhstan.

Earlier it was reported that the same day in Astana will be held the first summit “Central Asia Russia”. Both events will be attended by the President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, whose first state visit to Kazakhstan after taking the office as the Head of State in March this year will start on October 15.
