Turkmen Company Starts Canola Oil Production

The Sekiz Bag agricultural company based in Tejen district of Turkmenistan’s Ahal province launched canola (rapeseed) oil production, which will soon arrive on the shelves of domestic retail outlets.

In an interview with Business Turkmenistan at an exhibition dedicated to the 14th anniversary of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan (UIET) on Thursday, a representative of Sekiz bag Suleyman Danatarov said the canola oil is as nutritious as sesame or olive oil, and that the vitamin content of the oil is richer than that of cotton or sunflower oil.

According to Danatarov, last year the enterprise, equipped with advanced Chinese machinery, produced 30 thousand liters of the vegetable oil.

This year Sekiz Bag targets expansion of its production indicators, increase its rapeseed output in Turkmenistan. Besides, the enterprise looks to establish export of its products.

Rapeseed is widespread in America and Canada, as well as in many European countries.
