Turkmen President Expresses Condolences Over Deadly Train Crash in Greece

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov sent his deepest condolences to President of Greece Katerina Sakellaropoulou on the tragic train accident near Larissa, which resulted in human casualties and injuries, the official Turkmen media reported on Thursday.

President Berdimuhamedov, on behalf of the people and government of Turkmenistan and on his own behalf, conveyed words of sympathy and support at this difficult moment to the families, relatives and friends of the victims and wished a speedy recovery to the injured,

A passenger train carrying 350 people collided with a freight train on Tuesday. The accident has left 57 confirmed dead, and more than 48 people remained hospitalized, according to the AP news agency.

The collision was the country’s deadliest train accident ever. On Wednesday, Greece declared a three-day national mourning.
