The national team of Turkmenistan will take part in the World’s Championship among cadets (U17) in wrestling in Rome (Italy) from July 25 to 31, 2022. This is reported by the website of Turkmen Sport.
Turkmenistan will be represented in freestyle wrestling by: Azimberdi Ashirkuliyev (weight category up to 45 kg), Ismail Muhammedov (up to 55 kg), Alp Arslan Begenjov (up to 65 kg) and Parahat Atayev (up to 80 kg).
We remind that as per the results of the Asian wrestling championship among cadets under 17, which ended in Bishkek (Kyrgyzstan), Turkmen athletes won four medals: one gold and three bronze. Alp Arslan Begenjov won the highest standard award in freestyle wrestling, Azimberdi Ashirkuliyev and Parahat Atayev won bronze, and Kakabay Kakabayev won bronze in Greco-Roman wrestling.
