Turkmenistan celebrates the International Nowruz Day. The main festivities took place at the traditional venue Nowruz ýaýlasy in the district of Ak Bugday, Ahal province, reported the official media of Turkmenistan on Thursday.
President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov warmly congratulated his compatriots on the National Spring Festival. "Nowruz, which holds a special place in the lives of Eastern peoples, is a holiday of humanism, unity, friendship, and brotherhood.
By enhancing the cultural and spiritual values of our ancestors, Turkmen people have celebrated this day widely for centuries, observing associated traditions.Associated with rejuvenation, prosperity, and the renewal of life, Nowruz has special significance in fostering good relations between peoples," the President's message noted.
On the occasion of the holiday, events, exhibitions, and concerts were organized in all corners of the country.
The Nowruz holiday, inscribed on the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, marks the arrival of spring and the renewal of nature.
