Turkmenistan imposes customs duties for imported glass to promote domestic products on the market

At the government session held on 15 March President Gurbanguly Berdymukhammedov signed the Resolution on approving customs duties for glass products and bottles, imported to Turkmenistan.

The state information agency TDH reports that this is done to make local products made by the glass factory, which was opened a month ago, competitive with imported merchandise.

The amount of the duty is not specified.

Let us recall that on 14 February the glass-manufacturing plant was opened in the industrial zone of Ovandepe, Geoktepe etrap in Akhal velayat.

A week later, on 22 February, a tender on selling the products of the new manufacturing facility abroad was announced in Turkmenistan.
