The third session of the Turkmen-Qatar Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation took place Nov. 2627 in Doha, with the participation of relevant government agencies and business representatives from both countries, according to a Thursday press release by Foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan.
The session was co-chaired by Turkmen Minister of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations Nazar Agakhanov and Qatari Minister of Commerce and Industry Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Said. Before the main meeting, the ministers discussed prospects for expanding partnership in a smaller, bilateral format.
The agenda covered trade and economic cooperation, cultural and humanitarian ties, investment, transport, and other areas. Both sides emphasized the importance of the intergovernmental commission in implementing agreements and identified new directions for collaboration.
Following the session, a protocol of the third meeting of the commission was signed.
During the visit, Turkmenistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry Chairman Mergen Gurdov met with First Deputy Chairman of the Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mohamed bin Ahmed bin Twar Al Kuwari. They agreed to intensify business contacts between entrepreneurs from the two countries.
