On 28 June the state information agency TDH reported that over 1 million tons of wheat has been delivered to Turkmenistan’s procurement centers.
The grain harvesting campaign was launched in Akhal, Lebap and Mary velayats on 6 June, and on 13 June in Balkan and Dashoguz velayats.
On 21 May 2018 President Gurbanguly Berdymukhammedov signed a decree establishing the state commission for grain harvesting campaign.
It should be mentioned that according to the video footage shown by Turkmen television, concerts are arranged for farmers in the fields. Vendor stalls selling various merchandise and mobile libraries were also installed there.
This year 1,6 million tons of grain is expected to be harvested from 760 thousand hectares.
