Turkmenistan’s officials to present a human rights report in the UN

On 15 September in the course of the Cabinet session Turkmenistan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov briefed President Gurbanguly Berdymukhammedov that the Turkmen delegation will take part in the 72nd session of the UN General Assembly which will be held on 12 September in New York as well as the 36th UN Human Rights Council scheduled to be held in Geneva from 11 to 29 September.

According to the state information agency TDH, President Gurbanguly Berdymukhmammedov highlighted that Turkmenistan strives to conduct a comprehensive dialogue with the international community and facilitate the extended efficient interaction for the sake of global peace and stability.

The head of the state said that the initiatives that neutral Turkmenistan will put forward to be reviewed at the UN General Assembly session are aimed at achieving these goals.

Let us recall that the delegation of Turkmenistan did not attend the annual OSCE Human Dimension Conference devoted to human rights in Warsaw.
