Biden Congratulates President Serdar Berdimuhamedov on Novruz Holiday

The President of the United States Joe Biden has sent a congratulatory letter to Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov on the occasion of Nowruz holiday.

In a letter disseminated by the official Turkmen media on Monday, Biden said, “I wish you, your family and the people of the country a joyful and prosperous Novruz”.

“On this day of peace and renewal, many people in the United States and around the world join you in celebrating this wonderful holiday,” Biden said.

“This year, the United States and Turkmenistan celebrate the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations,” President Biden wrote in his letter to his Turkmen counterpart, adding that his administration looks forward to continuing work with Turkmenistan to achieve common goals on security, reducing methane emissions, advancing economic cooperation and the development of Caspian energy.

The US President stated that he looks forward to further strengthening the US-Turkmenistan ties.

President Biden concluded his letter with the congratulations in the Turkmen language: “Nowruz baýramyňyz gutly bolsun!”, which translates as “Happy Nowruz holiday!”

The Head of Turkmenistan also received congratulatory messages from the leaders of other countries Head of China Xi Jinping, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, Tajik President Emomali Rahmon, Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov.
