Cotton seed oil “Akhal” is sold only in Akhal velayat

Correspondents of “Chronicles of Turkmenistan” report that cotton seed oil “Akhal”, which is manufactured at the same-name oil mill and is in demand among residents of Turkmenistan, is only supplied to stores of Akhal velayat.

Even Ashgabat retail outlets, let alone other provinces, sell oil of lower quality, made in Bairamali or Turkmenabad.

Deodorized oil “Akhal” is sold in state-run stores at 3,40 manats per liter with huge queues being formed. Privately-owned stores sell it at 14 manats per liter.

“Chronicles of Turkmenistan” has previously reported that after the oil mill had resumed its operations, its produce was not available for sale, but was stored at warehouses.

According to a worker of the factory, starting from November one truck a day is sent to each etrap of Akhal velayat.

It should be emphasized that the region is headed by Serdar Berdymukhammedov, the President’s son. It has been previously reported that Akhal will become the first velayat to fulfill the cotton harvest plan. Moreover, this transpired a month before the cotton harvesting campaign was launched.
