Turkmen President Arrives in Moscow for Victory Day Celebrations

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov arrived in Moscow on Tuesday morning to participate in a Victory Day parade, TASS news agency reported citing the Turkmen embassy in Russia.

"We confirm, the President has arrived in Moscow to participate in the Victory Day parade," the diplomatic mission informed.

Earlier, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that CIS leaders were expected as guests at the parade. Presidents of Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and the Prime Minister of Armenia also confirmed their presence at the celebrations in Moscow.

President Berdimuhamedov held a telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Sunday, during which the Russian leader invited his Turkmen counterpart to participate in the events planned to be held in Moscow on the occasion of the 78th anniversary of the Great Victory.
