Turkmen President Meets Foreign Company Heads in Ashgabat

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov on Tuesday in Ashgabat held bilateral meetings with the Senior Adviser on strategic issues of the Japanese company Kawasaki Heavy Industries Ltd.Tatsuya Watanabe, Chairman of Cifal Gilles Remy, CEO of CARPI Tech Francois Tronel and Honorary President of this company Alberto Maria Scuero, and Chairman of CLAAS (Germany), Chairman of the German Committee on Eastern European Economic Relations Cathrina Claas-Muehlhaeuser, the official Turkmen media reports.

Meeting between Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Tatsuya Watanabe

The meeting exchanged views on the prospects for further cooperation, taking into account the large-scale programs implemented in Turkmenistan aimed at modernizing and intensifying the national economy.

President Berdimuhammedov said, “We are ready to consider your proposals for the implementation of new projects in the development of the chemical and oil and gas industry of Turkmenistan, in particular, to increase the production of phosphorus, ammonia, urea and gasoline from natural gas.”

Tatsuya Watanabe, in turn, stated that Japanese businesses show high interest in the promising Turkmen market and are ready to offer their experience and the latest technological developments to Turkmen partners.

Meeting with Cifal President Gilles Remy

During the meeting, it was noted that the Turkmen side is interested in further studying the achievements of French companies and is ready to consider their specific proposals.

Gilles Remy confirmed Cifal's intention to implement new joint projects and assured that the company will continue to strictly adhere to the fulfillment of its partnership obligations.

Meeting with the CARPI Tech CEO Francois Tronel, and CARPI Tech Honorary President Alberto Maria Scuero

During the talks, the leaders of the CARPI Tech, one of the global leaders in the production of waterproofing and special underwater gaskets used in reservoirs, stated the attractiveness of the Turkmen market for the French businesses.

Turkmen President noted that CARPI Tech, taking into account the accumulated positive experience, has good prospects for long-term constructive cooperation. In this regard, the Head of Turkmenistan emphasized the readiness of the Turkmen side to consider specific proposals from the company.

Meeting with Cathrina Claas-Muehlhaeuser

In a meeting with the CLAAS executive, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov expressed confidence that the results of her current visit and planned negotiations will contribute to the expansion of the activities of CLAAS in the Turkmen market and, in general, the intensification of business partnerships between Turkmenistan and Germany.

The readiness of the Turkmen side to consider proposals from German partners for further cooperation was also confirmed during the meeting.

On Tuesday, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov also held talks with the new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the European Union to Turkmenistan Beata Peksa.
