The inhabitants of an Ashgabat residential district complain about the cut-off heating supply

On a regular basis residents of the Ashgabat residential district of Parakhat-7/1 make money contributions to install and repair pipes for the heating line and for the heating of apartments but no heat is still being supplied to apartment blocks.

Written and verbal complaints from the residents sent to the public utilities services, the khyakimlik’s office of Berkararlyk etrap of Ashgabat and the municipal khyakimlik’s office did not improve the situation.

The staff of the house administration, who collected cash from us for the replacement of heating pipes in the autumn, paid a visit and said that now valves need to be replaced and, needless to say, asked us to make money contributions, a resident of the apartment building №18 said.

The employees tried to pump the air out of the system which resulted in the flooding in the basements of apartment buildings. The heat supply was not resumed and it is quite damp in the apartments located on the first floor.

A monthly heating fee is calculated based on the number of inhabitants in an apartment, which is multiplied by 0,50 manats and by total space of the apartment. In order to calculate the annual fee this amount is subsequently multiplied by five months.

Apart from this amount, the inhabitants of multi-storey apartment blocks of Ashgabat make money contributions to purchase pipes, valves, inserts, oxygen tanks for welding and other equipment.
